On the eve of its release, Quentin Tarantino’s tale of bloody mayhem amidst WWII finally got a few well-designed posters that fit right in line with his others of the past. It took the good people of Mondo Tees, maker of fine film clothing, along with Austin’s Alamo Draft House, to give INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS the proper artistic touch. The pieces were designed by renowned graphic artist Tyler Stout, the man behind the first Flight of the Conchords album cover as well as other known pieces of pop culture art. Google his name. You will not be disappointed with what you find.

While the first few posters, featuring close-up shots of various bloodied Nazi extermination devices, weren’t too awful, they did not fit in line with the great poster art we’ve seen with PULP FICTION, GRINDHOUSE, KILL BILL, and Tarantino’s various other works. And the “_____ is a Basterd” series, although fun, were a bit kitschy. As for the others, they resembled the most basic, unimaginative posters that come out of Hollywood these days.

But these…I would be proud to adorn my wall with all three of these fantastic pieces of filmic art. Unfortunately, but not surprisingly, I cannot due to the fact that all three posters are already sold out, as they only did a limited run of 80. Let us just hope, for my wall’s sake and yours, that they do another run!

Check out the other two posters after the jump!

    • Thanks for posting these. Very well done. Definitely more along the lines of what the film really delivers and certainly more iconic than most of the standard fare they put together for the film.
