A German poster for A CHRISTMAS CAROL
I’m getting pretty sick and tired of other countries getting cooler trailer and posters! The latest case is the new German poster for Robert Zemeckis’ take on the Dickens classic A CHRISTMAS CAROL. I’m sure all of you are familiar with the story, in which the greedy Ebenezer Scrooge is visited by three Christmas ghosts who show him how much he’s screwed up his life. A grim story, to say the least, but the American poster looks like a Christmas card with a picture of your creepy uncle on the cover. The German poster on the other hand is dark and ominous. This mood is much more in the spirit of the movie.
With A CHRISTMAS CAROL, Zemeckis continues his obsession with CGI characters (for better or for worse). He’s already experimented heavily with CG people in POLAR EXPRESS and BEOWULF. I wasn’t a fan of either of those movies, but maybe the voice talents of Jim Carrey as Scrooge will win me over. And, if you haven’t already see it, you can also check out a short 20 second clip of the film after the jump, which hit the net back in May.
