A SERIOUS MAN and more in this week’s DVD, Blu-ray, and TV on DVD new releases
WHAT’S NEW & COOL THIS WEEK:
This week is an extremely slow one when it comes to new releases. Unfortunately, there isn’t much to look forward to in terms of exciting cinematic adventures but here’s the few that are worth checking out. For all you Coen cinephiles, their religious fable A SERIOUS MAN hits shelves this week. I wasn’t a huge fan of the film, but with that said, it is still one to see for its shocking moments alone. But what would a Coen Brothers film be without shocking moments?
Also out this week is the remake of THE STEPFATHER (aka DOMESTIC DISTURBANCE 2), the Jon Favreau/Vince Vaugn written COUPLES RETREAT, and THE TIME TRAVELER’S WIFE. Do not be surprised when you find this out to not be a spin-off of BACK TO THE FUTURE, exploring Doc Brown’s early married life.
THE TITLE-O-THE WEEK I’LL BE RUSHING OUT TO BUY:
From all I’ve heard about BRONSON, the gritty British crime film about a man who creates an alter ego called “Charlie Bronson” as he spends 30 years in prison, I will finally have my chance to check out what everyone has been talking about. If it is even a little bit better than FAMILY OF COPS, then I expect I will love it.
Check out all the key releases for this week after the jump!
