Aaron Sorkin’s Facebook script might be awesome
It should come as little surprise that Aaron Sorkin can write a damn good script, even when the topic seems incredibly boring, such as the story of Facebook’s origins. Sorkin tackles Facebook in his script for THE SOCIAL NETWORK, and from the script review over on scriptshadow, it seem as though he has a winner.
From the review, the script plays out a lot like PIRATES OF SILICON VALLEY, another geek-film about the early days of Microsoft and Apple. There’s success, lying, backstabbing, young entrepreneurs, and billions of dollars on the line (somehow I doubt Myspace’s Tom has a backstory this exciting). All that adds up to a recipe for great drama! Sorkin is brilliant at dramatizing the behind-the-scenes happenings of seemingly dull institutions, which he did for both politics and television in “The West Wing” and “Studio 60.” Any doubts I had about this project have almost vanished.
