Adam Sandler is JACK AND JILL
Adam Sandler is leaving the semi-serious world of FUNNY PEOPLE and returning to some lighter fare. He’s already got two comedies lined up (GROWN UPS and ZOOKEEPER) and he’s adding a third to his roster.
The film is titled JACK AND JILL, but it doesn’t look like it will have much to do with the classic nursery rhyme. After all, what kind of movie can you make about falling down and breaking your crown? The movie will feature a twin brother-sister duo named Jack and Jill, and, in what I think is a first for a Sandler film, he will play both the man and the girl. I guess cross-dressing is in right now.
Little is known about the plot of the movie, other than it being a romantic comedy and the fact that Sandler is gonna be doing his best Eddie Murphy multiple-character thing. The screenplay is being written by Steve Koren, who also wrote CLICK, BRUCE ALMIGHTY, and some very funny “Seinfeld” episodes. Look for JACK AND JILL in early 2011.
