Yes, I am a heterosexual male, but I have a confession to make: I love me some “Gilmore Girls.” There, I said it and I feel better. I put the series off for many years, despite its critical acclaim, because I wasn’t sure I’d have much in common with a fast-talking mother-daughter duo, but that changed when a friend forced her DVD sets on me.

Having become a recent convert, I can empathize with fans lamenting the show’s final season. When creators Amy Sherman-Palladino and her husband left the show over creative differences, the quality definitely suffered, but it looks like Amy isn’t quite done with the Gilmores.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, she hinted at the possibility of a movie based on the show. When talking about what she would’ve done with the series had she stayed on, she told EW, “I don’t want to totally say [what my ideas were], because if there is a movie in the making, I’m going to be basically delving back into where I left off, and then I’m kind of [screwed].”

She remains in touch with Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel, which sounds to me like they’d be up for a movie too. Of course, with other great shows like “Arrested Development” and “Veronica Mars” struggling to get their movies off the ground, you have to wonder whether “Gilmore Girls” even stands a chance of making it to the big screen. Joss Whedon definitely had the right idea when he continued the “Buffy” storyline in comic books, but I don’t think they make comic book panels big enough to accommodate all of Rory and Lorelai’s dialogue.
