Anne Hathaway rumored for SPIDER-MAN 4
Yesterday, we brought you the rumor, and immediate debunking of said rumor, that actress Rachel McAdams (THE NOTEBOOK) was up for the role of Black Cat in SPIDER-MAN 4. Today comes yet another rumor of casting involving another lovely lady and the next installment of the popular film series.
That lovely lady in question would be Anne Hathaway (THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA), who Deadline Hollywood says has been approached by producers to star in SPIDER-MAN 4. The website says that Hathaway would not be replacing Kirsten Dunst as Spidey’s main squeeze Mary Jane Watson, leaving it open at this point to who she would play. That is if there is, in fact ,any clout to this rumor.
I’m uncertain if Hathaway could pull off the role of Black Cat and frankly, I have a hard time imagining her as the character. Furthermore, we’ve never seen her in this type of role before and there could be a good reason for that. Then again, we had not seen Tobey Maguire in this type of role before either before he was cast as your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man.
What do you guys think of this rumor? Anne Hathaway potentially Black Cat? Think they would title the film SPIDER-MAN 4: BECOMING MARY JANE? Or how about SPIDER-MAN 4: THE VILLAIN WEARS PRADA SPANDEX?
