Annette Bening signs on for Kristen Wiig passion project IMOGENE
Picking up several Academy Award nominations throughout her exceptional career – one just last year for an amazing turn in THE KIDS ARE ALL RIGHT – Annette Bening is on board for what looks to be another amazing comedy.
Deadline Hollywood reveals that the actress has officially signed on for a role in IMOGENE, a dark comedy that will be led by Saturday Night Live cast member and BRIDESMAIDS breakout Kristen Wiig. Wiig will play the film’s protagonist, a playwright who becomes custody of her mother upon pretending to kill herself to get back with her ex. Bening is set to portray the mother, who also happens to be a gambling addict.
Bening is an actress who can powerfully handle sidesplitting comedy and heartbreaking drama at the same time; Wiig definitely proved herself in BRIDESMAIDS as an actress who can deliver the laughs but also reveal a more sensitive side.
IMOGENE sounds like a terrific project, even more so now that Bening is attached.
