Are the guys who wrote ZOMBIELAND writing a G.I. JOE sequel?
ZOMBIELAND was one of the most enjoyable films released in 2009. The film is a slick horror comedy that is a lot of fun. The studio execs seem to understand the greatness of ZOMBIELAND (the fact that it did well at the box office might have helped them realize this) as the film’s writers, Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, very recently got hired to write the DEADPOOL spin-off movie, and now their names are getting mentioned with a G.I. JOE sequel.
Collider is reporting that a “trusted source” has told them that the G.I. JOE sequel is in the works, and that Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick will be the names writing the sequel. Nothing official has come from Paramount about this yet, so please don’t take this as fact yet.
I wasn’t impressed with G.I. JOE, but ZOMBIELAND is awesome, so hopefully Reese and Wernick will do cool things with the sequel, if they write it. How about you?
