Awesome trailer for Stuart Hazeldine’s EXAM
This is the first I’ve heard of this movie, but already I’m intrigued, even if the concept of placing people in a single location and observing them as they descend into their primal instincts is a bit played out. When Hitchcock made LIFEBOAT, the idea was almost unfathomable, but today, movies like CUBE and PARANORMAL ACTIVITY have turned it into a cliche, but it’s a cliche I enjoy watching.
In EXAM, “eight talented candidates have reached the final stage of selection to join the ranks of a mysterious and powerful corporation. Entering a windowless room, an Invigilator gives them eighty minutes to answer one simple question. He outlines three rules they must obey or be disqualified.” The twist comes when the candidates discover that none of them have been given a question to answer.
The movie is from writer-turned-director, Stuart Hazeldine, who is probably best known for co-writing the Nicolas Cage film KNOWING. EXAM is written and directed by Hazeldine and is scheduled to come out on January 8th in the UK. There is no official US release date yet.
