So I go to this school where to be cool, you have to be in the know of good music. I, however, lost some credibility when I found out about Battles only a month or so ago. When I first listened to their first full length album, Mirrored, I didn’t understand what the huge buzz (still don’t) was about, but I kept giving it another listen, and I finally got into it. LONGEST RUN-ON SENTENCE EVER.

ANYWAY, I got the new Battles’ EP. It is a collection of Tonto remixes (Four Tet, which is really effin! good and reminds me of Escape from NY for some reason, and The Field, which is really effin! bad and reminds me of Escape from L.A. for obvious reasons) and one live recording from FRF 07 (again, I am not in the know). I am definitely a fan of this from the get go. My only complaint is the Leyendecker remix done by DJ EMZ. What the hell was that?

Are you allowed to say “fucking” in print, on the internet? In a review no less? Haha, I’m just joking, but I’ll have to check out Battles, I’ve never heard of them.
