Bekmambetov gears up for WANTED sequel
Have you heard the news? Good things come in twos. Yes yes, I heard a rumor a long time ago that there would be a sequel to WANTED and now our good friends at ComingSoon.Net just confirmed that hopeful rumor.
Timur Bekmambetov, the brilliant Russian behind WANTED, NIGHT WATCH and DAY WATCH talked to Russian newsite RIA Novosti about WANTED 2: "In July we will start preparation for the film. I think in the late autumn or winter shooting will be performed. The shooting will take place in America, India and Russia."
The crazy-awesome thing about this is that Bekmambetov found a way to bring back Angelina Jolie's character and is hoping to also bring back Konstantin Khabenskiy's The Exterminator (you know, the guy that had a passion for mice and got accidentally blasted by McAvoy's character, Wes).
I'm willing to bet Bekmambetov wants to bring back Konstantin Khabenskiy because a) he's awesome and b) they worked together on NIGHT and DAY WATCH.
If you can get the reference to the first two lines in this post - I love you.
Big thanks to our reader Lauren Lester for the heads up!
