  • Cate Blanchett joins Joe Wright’s HANNA

HANNA, the latest film by Joe Wright, sees him once again teaming up with Irish actress Saoirse Ronan.  The film stars Ronan as an Eastern European teen that's been brought up to be a cold-blooded assassin.  Somehow, she finds refuge with a French family, but is soon dragged back to her family's dark world and must fight to regain her freedom.  Throw in pubescent boys, all the other growing pains, and you have yourself one interesting coming of age story.

Just last week it was announced that Eric Bana had been cast as Ronan's father in the film.  Today we learned that fellow Australian, Cate Blanchett has also joined the cast.   No word yet on what role Blanchett will play in the film.  Personally I'd love to see Blanchett play a killer or CIA agent or something of the sort as opposed to a member of the French family that takes in the teen killer.

The talent associated with this project gives me hope for this project.  I can't wait to see the outcome of this.
