W. teaser poster

posted on August 4th, 2008 by Adam Reed.

Oliver Stone’s new movie biopic on President George W. Bush, appropriately titled W (Dubya), now has a poster. In the poster we see President Bush, played by Josh Brolin getting prepped in front of the American flag. This is a cool poster that gives onlookers the feeling that something is about to begin; and something will begin. This film promises to be controversial, but I personally am intrigued. Seriously, it’s Oliver Stone and George W. Bush! Look for W to hit theaters this fall.

Surfer Dude poster/trailer

posted on July 30th, 2008 by Chase Whale.

Here’s the poster artwork for SURFER DUDE, featuring Matthew McConaughey standing under what looks like a tree full of goats and deer? I know you’re thinking, “is he serious?” But Matt Mc. has a knack for doing movies that look/are awful. Keep in mind though he’s the guy that we’ll always be cheering for when we see him doing something good. Or TROPIC.

Click on the poster to view the trailer. SURFER DUDE is slated to “wash up” theaters sometime this year.

Clone Wars posters

posted on July 16th, 2008 by Eric Shirey.

There’s been a few new Star Wars: The Clone Wars posters released online. We’ve posted one above and the other two are below. Does the character animation bother me? Yes. Am I going to go see this immediately as soon as I am allowed? Absolutely. I think that the background, ship, and battle animation looks spectacular - almost like the actual live-action movies.

In the movie, The Clone Wars are raging between the Separatists and the Galactic Republic. When Jabba the Hutt’s son is taken by a group of renegades, two Jedi are summoned to investigate. Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi depart in search of answers: where is the Hutt’s son, and who is controlling this mysterious renegade group? Yoda sends Ahsoka Tano along as Anakin’s apprentice, Obi-Wan duels Asajj Ventress, and Anakin finds himself dueling Count Dooku once more. Meanwhile, the Sith plan to instigate a three-way war, including the Hutts. Remember, this takes place between Episodes II and III.

This movie is meant to be the springboard for the animated TV series, which will air on The Cartoon Network in the fall, but is also meant to be able to stand alone. The series is meant to tell the stories of some of the lesser known characters in the Star Wars universe. Here’s what supervising director David Filoni had to say:

“We’re not just telling Anakin Skywalker’s story. If we were doing that, we would be stuck on one single arc. I look at the episodes where we have him and Ahsoka, which is his student, and I know that there is an arc there, because something has to happen to her. We don’t see her in [Star Wars: Episode III–:] Revenge of the Sith. We can kind of go left or right of that plot and deal with characters that we have never seen. There’s a lot of material, so I can stretch it and, you know, keep making episodes about things that George [Lucas] would like to see or I would like to see.

[Clone Wars] is a very stand-alone movie. It sets up the major characters we know, like Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker, and, of course, the new character, Ahsoka. So it’s made to stand alone and introduce everybody to the universe we’re showing in the series.

In that period [the three year period of The Clone Wars], there are so many stories to tell that I’ve been amazed that just in the first season what we didn’t get to, you know, and what I would still like to get to and what stories we would still like to explore. So for me and the longer it goes, the more chance we all get to tell fascinating stories in that galaxy.”

The movie revolves around two strangers (Shia LaBeouf and Michelle Monaghan) become the pawns of a mysterious woman they have never met, but who seems to know their every move. Realizing they are being used to further her plot for a political assassination, they must work together to outwit the woman before she has them killed.

The film also stars Rosario Dawson, Billy Bob Thornton, and Ethan Embry. It’s directed by D.J. Caruso (Disturbia) from a screenplay by John Glenn, Travis Wright, Hillary Seitz (Insomnia), and Dan McDermott. What a Disaster!

posted on July 3rd, 2008 by Eric Shirey.

How do these parody movies that just got released five days ago? Do they film these things in a couple of days? Do they film these things up until a day before release? These are all questions I want answered. Here’s the new poster for the film.
