Character posters for PERCY JACKSON & THE OLYMPIANS: THE LIGHTNING THIEF

New character posters have been released for PERCY JACKSON & THE OLYMPIANS: THE LIGHTNING THIEF. The trailers have been drawing comparisons to the HARRY POTTER series for quite some time now and they haven’t been shying away from this fact. Chris Columbus, director of the first two POTTER films, is the director of THE LIGHTNING THIEF, and every trailer I’ve seen has been keen to mention it.
The film tells the story of a teenager named Percy Jackson, the descendant of the Greek god Poseidon, who learns that Olympus and all its inhabitants are located on the 600th floor of the Empire State Building. Percy sets out to end an ongoing battle between the god and must also figure out who has stolen Zeus’ lightning bolt, as he is accused of the crime.
The posters feature Percy (Logan Lerman) and his friends Annabeth (Alexandra Daddario) and Grover (Brandon T. Jackson). The cast also includes Uma Thurman, Pierce Brosnan, Catherine Keener, Steve Coogan, Ray Winstone, Sean Bean, Kevin McKidd, and Rosario Dawson. Check out the new posters after the jump.
Theatrical release is set for February 12, 2010.
