Back in November when the ten animated shorts vying for their respective Oscar were announced, I put together a post featuring the trailers for each film. I could find trailers for all but two of the films, including the brilliant French short, LOGORAMA. In fact, any information on the film was hard to come by. Jump forward to January, and within minutes of making my arrival at “the Blogger Condo” at this year’s Sundance Film Festival, I was watching LOGORAMA in its entirety, thanks to the awesome Brandon Lee Tenney over at First Showing. The short had screened at the festival, and simply blown everyone away. Even on Brandon’s computer screen, it was awesome-tastic (new word).

The now-fully Oscar-nominated short takes place in a world where everything is made out of recognizable corporate logos – people, places, vehicles, animals, food, just everything. If that wasn’t already impressive enough, French duo François Alaux and Herve de Crecy use this world to craft a number of different storylines, which weave together steadily over the course of the film. It’s funny and topical and just stunning.

Check out the amazing short after the jump!
