A rainy afternoon in Los Angeles nearly washed out the red carpet and all the stars that crowded it, but this is Hollywood, kids, and the show simply must go on. After everyone had moved their delicate chiffon dresses and damp tuxedo tails (okay, fine, no tuxedo tails) inside for the ceremony, it was time to give out the awards. And while there were not a lot of surprises (cough, AVATAR, cough), there were some serious snubs (THE HURT LOCKER!) that show that this awards season might not be as sewn-up as we all once thought.
