Clint Eastwood’s INVICTUS gets a poster
The very first poster for Clint Eastwood’s INVICTUS is finally here. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: Eastwood is one of the most prolific writer/directors we have today and I think our cinematic world is the better for it. Today, movies take years to go through the Hollywood process, but the guy seems to just get in there and get the job done. It might get annoying if his work wasn’t so consistently good.
Last year we had the wonderful GRAN TORINO and his follow-up INVICTUS looks like another winner. The movie tells the story of Nelson Mandela’s (played by Morgan Freeman) attempt to use the 1995 Rugby World Cup to bring together the people of South Africa, whose team was lead by Francois Pienaar (played by Matt Damon). The poster features the two lead characters and brilliantly strikes the optimistic spirit of the film in a single image. The movie comes out on December 11th and I can’t wait.
