COWBOYS AND ALIENS now has a release date

We now know when aliens will be landing in the Old West. Jon Favreau’s comic-book based project COWBOYS AND ALIENS officially has a release date, and not surprisingly it’s during the summer. Universal has stated COWBOYS AND ALIENS will be coming out on July 29, 2011.
COWBOYS AND ALIENS is about cowboys and Indians fighting against hostile aliens that land on earth during the 1800s. It based on zero true stories, and sounds like it could be a lot of fun, especially given that it is being directed by the man who made IRON MAN and will star Daniel Craig.
This means Favreau will have two back-to-back summer movies, with IRON MAN 2 this summer and COWBOY AND ALIENS next. Favreau is becoming a very big deal in the director’s chair, and hopefully IRON MAN was not a summer success fluke for Favreau. I am ready for the next two summers to be cinematically rocked by the man.
