DALLAS IFF 2010 Video Interview: Writer/Director Anthony Burns, Writer/Actor Heath Freeman, and Writer/Producer Brandon Freeman (SKATELAND)

After missing SKATELAND at Sundance this past year, I was thrilled at the opportunity to finally see the film that many had been ranting and raving about. How fitting that it should be right here in Dallas, not far from where the film is set and where the filmmakers are from!

And so, I finally got my chance. Needless to say, now I see what so many have been talking about. The film is a gorgeous portrait of Texan Americana, the 1980s, and growing up. It hit home in so many ways (literally and figuratively), that I was even more thrilled at the opportunity to sit down with the three stylish, cool dudes responsible for this great film.

Check out our interview with co-writer/director Anthony Burns, co-writer/actor Heath Freeman, and co-writer/Producer Brandon Freeman in which we talk about capturing the authenticity of the '80s, casting the film, their '80s film influences, and how they secured the rights to songs from greats of the decade like The Cure, Talking Heads, New Order, and more.

See it after the jump!
