Dallas International Film Festival announces its call for entries
Okay, technically they didn’t just announce their call for entries, but the DIFF is one of GATW’s favorite film festivals (they’re from Dallas, der), so we want to support our hometown heroes as much as we can. Last year was GATW’s first year to attend this festival, and I never wanted it to end. We met so many great people, which include the staff, who are the friendliest people you’ll ever meet.
You might not recognize the Dallas International Film Festival immediately by its name. It started out as the Deep Ellum Film Festival 10 years ago, then joined forces with AFI in 2006 and became AFI DALLAS. In 2010, the DIFF will be making its official new name debut.
According to the festival’s website (Dallas Film), you can now submit your film for festival consideration. Some of the awards are pretty sweet: Best Narrative makes you $25,000 richer, Best Documentary adds $25,000 to your bank account, and the Texas Filmmaker Award gets you $10,000 cash and $10,000 in goods and services.
Deadlines details after the jump!

James Faust, the Director of Programming at DIFF, emailed me a flier for the festival, which gives all the festival information every filmmaker wanting to submit needs. Head on over to their official website, Dallas Film, for more details. Also, if you’re on twitter, follow them – @DALLASfilm.
