Darren Aronofsky to direct Vincent Cassel in new Yves Saint Laurent ad
After garnering four Oscar nominations, a pair of members from the team behind BLACK SWAN are set to re-team, this time for a perfume ad.
The NYDailyNews (via ONTD) is reporting that Darren Aronofsky and actor Vincent Cassel will join forces once again, this time for a Yves Saint Laurent ad for the company’s men’s fragrance, La Nuit de L’Homme.
Apparently the short, shot in Paris, will follow Cassel as “the ultimate ladies’ man attempting to seduce multiple women across the French city, all in one night.” Count me in.
The advertisement will be hitting Europe at the end of March, with it arriving in the states a few months later. Cassel joins Natalie Portman as BLACK SWAN thespians to get post-SWAN fragrance ad jobs, with the actress recently teaming with Sofia Coppola for a Miss Dior Cherie ad. Personally, I love the idea of Aronofsky working on ads like this, because I think while it’s a very brooding style, his cinematic style fits really well in the world of ads like this.
