Depp to direct Keith Richards documentary
According to our pals over at The Playlist, Johnny Depp is set to direct a documentary about his inspiration for Jack Sparrow, Mr. Keith Richards of The Rolling Stones. The word about Depp's inspiration was so popular that Richards himself played Sparrow's father in the third installment of the PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN franchise.
"Now that I'm wiser, and that enough time has passed, I can experience directing again," Depp explained to the European media. "Already next week I'll start working on a Keith Richards documentary. While I'm in Drvengrad, my editor is already working on kilometers of archive footage and footage of his concerts. I'm very touched that Keith agreed to show up in front of my cameras."
Nothing else has been released at the moment, but I have no doubt this is going to be one incredible documentary. Both Depp and Richards have explored the dark - and often claimed fun - side of fame (sex, drugs, and more sex and drugs) and have bounced back, so it's not going to be difficult for Richards to open up to the Deppster.
Stay tuned, as we'll update as soon as we know more about the film. Also, head to The Playlist to see the trailer for the first film Depp directed - called THE BRAVE - starring Marlon Brando.
