Wow, how time flies. GATW was just taking baby steps in the movie blogging world when we met writer/director/actor/do-it-all Frank Mosley, who had just made a short film called LITTLE BOY. Some time later, Frank went on to co-star in Justin D. Hilliard's THE OTHER SIDE OF PARADISE which premiered at last year's AFI DALLAS Film Festival (now DIFF). Frank has a new film under his belt, HOLD, and since he's based in the same wonderful town GATW was started in -- Dallas, TX -- it's only right that we kick off our DIFF preview coverage with HOLD.

HOLD marks Frank's debut as a full-length feature writer/director, and it was announced last week that it will make its premiere at the Dallas International Film Festival in April. This serves as good news for Frank, you, and me. I know a lot of our readers aren't from Texas and cannot make it to the festival but I promise you, we will be first in line to see and report on it. Who knows, maybe we'll convince Frank to do a video interview with us?

Hit the jump to see HOLD's official synopsis (heads up, it's intense) and trailer. HOLD will make its world premiere at 7:15 PM on Saturday, April 10 at the Angelika Film Center off Mockingbird.

"Do you feel safe?" HOLD is a new film from Revision Films, directed by Frank Mosley and written by Robby Storey. Their first feature film is a tense, spare, and lean drama about a young couple's relationship after the wife has been raped by a home intruder. Filmed in claustrophobic closeups and unflinching long takes, it displays the isolation of a couple bound by love, but torn by circumstance. HOLD investigates the frailty of the hero complex and exposes the vulnerability that masculinity sometimes masks too well in the face of tragedy. Starring Robby Storey, Stephanie Rhodes, Jodie Moore, Andrew Sensenig, and Jeri Smith.
