Ed Helms to star in HANGOVER sequel before CENTRAL INTELLIGENCE
There was a rumor floating around Tinsletown yesterday that Universal had scrapped the Ed Helms starring, Dean Parisot (GALAXY QUEST) directed CENTRAL INTELLIGENCE. Well, as these things go in Hollywood, that turns out to be not quite true. The studio will not squash the film all together but rather is putting it on hiatus until an unknown time. The film was originally set to begin production in the spring.
CENTRAL INTELLIGENCE centers around a regular Joe who gets mixed up in a CIA scandal. I’m sure you can take an educated guess at who that regular Joe will be played by. The film was and may still be the comedian’s first role as a leading man. Yep, sounds about right for Helms.
This gives way to Helms returning to his role as Dr. Faggot AKA Stu Price in the sequel to last year’s comedy hit THE HANGOVER before beginning work on CENTRAL INTELLIGENCE. This also gives Universal the time to figure out how they want to approach the film, and expedites for us more of the toothless comedic wonder that is Mr. Helms and his lovely serenading voice.
