It looks like the G.I. JOE sequel is moving ahead quickly, having locked in Dwayne Johnson, Channing Tatum, and director John Chu. Now they are starting to fill out the remainder of the cast, with the first new recruit potentially being Elodie Yung.

The French actress is currently in talks with Paramount to join the film as a ninja member of the Joe squad. G.I. JOE is looking to introduce a slew of new characters who weren't in the first film, with Elodie Yung's Jinx among them. According to the original G.I. Joe cartoons and comic books, Jinx is one of the few characters whose real name is completely top secret. Originally a normal college girl from Los Angeles, a trip to Japan reveals her familiar ties to the Arashikage ninja clan. After being initiated into the clan, G.I. Joe member Snake-Eyes recruited her to the team, where she's trained under the top martial artists in the Joe-verse.

Channing Tatum will return as Duke, while Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is currently in negotiations to play Roadbloack. Joseph Gordon-Levitt is not expected to reprise his role, given his busy schedule with THE DARK KNIGHT RISES and other projects.

Elodie Yung is building up quite the action-filled resume, having previously displayed some kick-ass ninja skills in DISTRICT 13: ULTIMATIUM, a parkour action flick. She will next be seen in David Fincher's THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO as Rooney Mara's lesbian girlfriend.
