ENCHANTED writer and director reteam to develop a new pitch for Sony Pictures Animation
ENCHANTED director Kevin Lima and writer David Sussman have been tasked with developing an untitled project for Sony Pictures Animation. No plot details have been released yet, but we know that the project originated from art director Michael Kurinsky and producer Chris Chase.
The project will be part live-action and part CGI animation, drawing comparisons to Tim Burton's ALICE IN WONDERLAND. Sussman will write the script while Lima will direct and produce. The official greenlight for the project is awaiting Sussman's script.
Lima has been attached to quite a few projects since Disney's ENCHANTED including a remake of the Don Knott's comedy THE INCREDIBLE MR. LIMPET and the CANDY LAND film. Since ENCHANTED, Sussman has worked on the comedy MARATHON, as well as a TV pilot with Lima.
Sony Pictures Animation last big film was CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF MEATBALLS. Upcoming films include THE SMURFS, ARTHUR CHRISTMAS, HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA, and OPEN SEASON 3.
