Exclusive: Danny Trejo not in THE EXPENDABLES
I’m fairly certain that no one posted this news story yet so I’m calling it an exclusive. I literally just got done interviewing Danny Trejo at CineVegas and El Jefe himself told me that he is, in fact, not in THE EXPENDABLES as previously thought. He went on to tell me that his name was associated with the film for some unknown reason and he was never contacted by Sylvester Stallone or anyone involved with the film.
Trejo was rumored to play a drug lord, possibly the one that The Expendables are sent in to take out. IMDb lists Trejo as rumored but most have considered him part of the huge (both in size and quantity), testosterone-filled cast. Unfortunately, now it is a little less testosterone-filled with the absence of Trejo.
One film Trejo is definitely still in is Robert Rodriguez’s MACHETE, which has been long-rumored to be rolling forward. Well now it is! Trejo said he just talked to Rodriguez yesterday and was told they would begin shooting in 5 weeks. Guess that ends the debate on what Rodriguez’s next film is going to be.
For those of you who don’t know, MACHETE was one of the fake trailers featured in Tarantino and Rodriguez’s GRIND HOUSE (check it out here). No relation to Trejo’s equally awesome character in SPY KIDS, also named Machete.
As a side note, Danny Trejo is the man.

The tile says Eat, Pray, and LOVE? Although no commas it has the “WORD” LOVE in the title.CURIOUS… because the movie is NOT about LOVE…I WONDER WHY?
