First look at Mel Gibson and Anton Yelchin in THE BEAVER
Who could possibly have suspected that a beaver would be the star of a film called THE BEAVER? Mel Gibson and Anton Yelchin are in it, too. We've got some assorted pictures from the set of the film for your perusal and thoughts. There's not much here, just some shots of Yelchin looking his adorable self, and Gibson running frantically with the titular beaver. You can smell the desperation on that furry little creature. The beaver looks stressed out, too.
In THE BEAVER, Gibson's character, Walter Black, spends his days with a furry beaver puppet on his hand that he not only treats as a living animal, but uses as a proxy for most of his communication. In the film, Yelchin plays Gibson's son and Jodie Foster play his wife. The script for the dark comedy was penned by Kyle Killen, and it won The Black List 2008, an annual competition between unproduced screenplays bouncing around Hollywood.
Check out some more candid set shots after the jump.
THE BEAVER is set to gnaw its way into theaters in 2011.
