The first official photo from the adaptation of Cormac McCarthy’s best selling novel The Road has shown up over at Row Three. In the photo we get a first look at Viggo Mortensen and Kodi Smit-McPhee as the father and son who attempt to head south across a post-apocalyptic United States, toward the coast. Along the way they get fend off hunger and cannibals and just try to survive. The film is directed by John Hillcoat who last directed the gritty western The Proposition so he knows how do to barren wastelands well, so I am thinking this film will be a visual masterpiece if nothing else. The film is set to open November 26th so look out for a trailer later this summer.
