Fox has acquired the rights to a book that sounds too absolutely crazy to be based upon a true story, but it is. And because the story sounds too crazy to be true, it must be made into a movie. The story is the one documented within the pages of Benjamin Mee’s bestseller, WE BOUGHT A ZOO – a story about a man (Mee), his cancer-ridden wife, and their children taking over a broken down zoo containing 200 animals. This story sounds fascinating, and I am so glad it is being given the proper Hollywood treatment.

Aline Brosh McKenna (THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA, 27 DRESSES) has been brought in by Fox to pen the screenplay, which sounds like a good move to me, considering her filmography. As more news surrounding this project surfaces, you readers will be the first to hear about it.
