Galifianakis may join a FUNNY STORY

I love Zach Galifianakis. He is one of my favorite comedians and has been for quite some time. Seeing as I’ve loved him since the days of “Boston Common” and borderline stalked all his acting and comedic efforts when I was in high school, I am happy to see him getting the attention I feel he deserves. Riding high on a wave of positive reviews from his performance in THE HANGOVER, Galifianakis has signed on to some pretty impressive roles, including DUE DATE with Robert Downey Jr. and DINNER FOR SCHMUCKS, and can soon be seen on “Bored to Death” which premieres on September 20th on HBO (and can be viewed online now – for more details see here).
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Mr. “starts with a gal and ends with a kis(s)” is in negotiations, along with Emma Roberts, for a part in IT’S KIND OF A FUNNY STORY, the latest film from Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck (SUGAR, HALF NELSON).
The film, which is based on the book of the same name by Ned Vizzini, is about a clinically depressed teenager who accidently checks himself into an adult mental institution. Galifianakis would play one of the main characters. This is truly an exciting prospect for Galifianakis to be working with such talented filmmakers on such an interesting project.
