Guy Pearce confirmed for Ridley Scott’s PROMETHEUS
Guy Pearce will join Noomi Rapace, Charlize Theron, Michael Fassbender, and Idris Elba for Ridley Scott's PROMETHEUS - an original sci-fi film from the director once intended to be his prequel to ALIEN.
C.H.U.D. first got word of Pearce's casting by way of an anonymous email from someone close to someone else close to the project. The Playlist has now confirmed that the actor will indeed appear in the film.
Not much is known about PROMETHEUS other than the fact that it will be loosely connected to the ALIEN mythos (something about DNA strands) but is at the same time its own film. Scott has stated the film will present "a new, grand mythology and universe."
The script comes from Damon Lindelof (COWBOYS & ALIENS, Lost), who reworked a draft by Jon Spaihts (THE DARKEST HOUR). Lindelof has said about the film, "In a world flooded with prequels, sequels and reboots, I was incredibly struck by just how original Ridley’s vision was for this movie. It’s daring, visceral and hopefully, the last thing anyone expects."
Well, if that doesn't get you excited...
