He-Man gets a director
Remember that awful He-Man movie from the 80s, MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE? You might not, but even after years of therapy it still haunts me. He-Man was one my favorite cartoons growing up and the movie ruined the whole fantasy. So should I be excited at the prospects of another movie based on the adventures of the heroic blonde adonis? I’m not sure, but like it or not the project is gaining some movement in Hollywood.
LatinoReview is reporting that director John Stevenson will be tackling project after giving an impressive pitch to the studio. And just what credentials does Stevenson have? Not very many on the director’s chair, but he did direct KUNG-FU PANDA, which I thought was pretty spectacular. Up until now, I was expecting this movie to be live action, but if Stevenson is making an animated He-Man, I’m in!
