Helen Mirren signs up for RED
The thriller RED already had some impressive names attached, with Morgan Freeman and Bruce Willis, and now one more well-respected thespian has been added to the cast. Helen Mirren, who won an Oscar for her performance as Queen Elizabeth II in THE QUEEN, will now be playing a role in RED.
RED is based on a mini-comic book series about a former CIA agent, Paul Moses, who is enjoying retirement when the new director of the CIA orders a hit on him, out of fear that the details of what Moses did for the government could get out. The new director’s decision causes Moses to go on the run and fight against many well-trained killers.
Bruce Willis will be playing Paul Moses, and no doubt showing us that he still knows how to kick ass on the big screen, like he did not too long ago in LIVE FREE OR DIE HARD. It was not revealed what part Mirren will be playing.
