Hoffman may be out of LITTLE FOCKERS
It’s looking like Dustin Hoffman won’t be back for the third film in the MEET THE PARENTS series, tentatively titled LITTLE FOCKERS. Dustin played Bernie Focker in the second film of the series, MEET THE FOCKERS.
Jessica Alba, Laura Dern, and Harvey Keitel are all on board for the film, which will include Ben Stiller, Teri Polo, Robert De Niro, Blythe Danner, and Owen Wilson reprising their former roles from the first two films.
Originally, Hoffman was to appear in a cameo at the end of the film. But according to The Hollywood Insider Blog, “there has been strife between Hoffman and the studio over the size of the part, the scheduling of the days on set and other difficulties.”
Hopefully, they can get it together and Dusty will be a part of this film. But with the additions that have already been made to the cast, he would hardly be missed. Perhaps they will do what has been done so often on television and replace Hoffman with another actor. I really can’t think of anyone that could replace the great Dustin Hoffman. Can you?
Barbra Streisand is still said to have a prominent role as Roz, the mother of Ben Stiller’s character, Gaylord Focker.
LITTLE FOCKERS is set to hit theaters on July 30, 2010.
