Three seperate films are currently in the works, surrounding the Spanish surrealist Salvador Dali.  Already completed, and currently showing at some European festivals, LITTLE ASHES stars Robert Pattinson (TWILIGHT, HARRY POTTER) as a young Salvador, and his minglings with filmmaker Luis Bunuel and writer Federico Garcia Lorca.  While LITTLE ASHES focuses on the early years, the other two films will both take their own approach to covering Dali’s later years.  Simon West (CON AIR) is undertaking DALI, which will blend music and CGI in an attempt to represent the imagination of the Spanish artist.  With Antonio Banderas filling the title role and the idea of CGI possibly giving the entire movie a surrealistic feel, I’d say it’s going to be an interesting project to track.  The last of the three may be the most intriguing.  DALI & I: THE SURREAL STORY stars Al Pacino as an older Salvador Dali, and Cillian Murphy as Stan Lauryssens, an art dealer who knew Dali and his wife personally.  DALI & I is based on Lauryssens’ revealing memoir of the same name, and will be directed by Andrew Niccol (LORD OF WAR, THE TERMINAL).
