After I saw Mickey Rourke’s moving, heartfelt performance in THE WRESTLER there were a lot of emotions flying through my head. One of those emotions was desire. Desire for my own Randy “The Ram” Robinson action figure, complete with 1980’s era Dodge Ram van. Or at least one of those awesome t-shirts he was pawning off for cash.

So I set out across the endless world wide web, hoping that maybe the studio had made the action figures as a promotional item. After all, as The Ram tells us, they are $300 collectible items! But they are nowhere to be found. Not even a 1980’s WWF action figure with long, bleach blonde hair and neon green pants that resembled Randy. I wasn’t so much surprised by this, being that THE WRESTLER is not the type of film to do merchandising or action figures.

So my search turned to the t-shirt. Surely the studio made a run of these for press kits and promotional giveaways. Most films, even indies, do these kinds of things. Again, nothing. No black & turquoise t-shirt featuring the horned animal and “The Ram” in a radical 80’s font.

    And so the search continues…

In the meantime, maybe this t-shirt will calm your desire to let the world know you’re a fan of The Ram. At least it’s in his signature neon green.

Comment back if you remember Wrestling Buddies. Naturally, I owned Hulk Hogan. Which one did you have?
