INVICTUS gets a trailer
Happy Matt Damon Day! Okay, it’s not, but it kinda feels like it. Earlier today we got the bad-ass new BOURNE-esque trailer for GREEN ZONE and now we have the trailer for INVICTUS, which looks amazing.
The trailer opens with a poem and the radio announcing that “today President Mandela takes office in Pretoria, balancing black aspirations with white fears.” Hearing that and seeing the disturbing footage that immediately follows it, I was left wondering how much of a factor the events of the past year and a half were in Clint Eastwood’s decision to tell this story. Although the events of the movie take place over ten years ago, they still resonate today. Check out the trailer after the jump.
The movie is due out on December 11th, just in time for Oscar nominations! If the early buzz is to be believed, INVICTUS is gonna be a strong contender.
