Jack Black wants to get animated again
Jack Black's history with animation isn't all roses. I still want my money back for SHARK TALE, but KUNG FU PANDA was one of my favorite animated movies of last year. Now the actor is making another foray into animation with a new project.
Still untitled, the movie will deal with Cryptozoology, which, according to Wikipedia, "refers to the search for animals which are considered to be legendary or otherwise nonexistent by mainstream biology." This can include everything from El Chupacabra to Big Foot.
The movie pitch was delivered by Black and writer Jason Micallef, who might be best known for his inclusion in 2008's Black List of popular unproduced scripts. It is being acquired by Illumination Entertainment, whose only other major movie is the upcoming DESPICABLE ME, which looks like it might be pretty damn good.
Black also has the upcoming KUNG FU PANDA sequel in the works, which is due out in 2011.
