Jason Segel is a BAD TEACHER
Jason Segel has been around for a while in various TV shows and indie films, but it wasn't until his small part in KNOCKED UP and starring role in FORGETTING SARAH MARSHALL that he became a marketable name. Since those films, he has starred in I LOVE YOU MAN and his role CBS' "How I Met Your Mother" (if you aren't watching, you should be) has become more recognized and on par to Neil Patrick Harris' Barney.
Now we get to see him exercise his acting chops as the gym teacher in BAD TEACHER.
Segel will be joining John Michael Higgins (YES MAN, COUPLES RETREAT) who is playing Wally Snur, the school's principal. We also know that Cameron Diaz is set to be the lead, and we reported a while back that Lucy Punch will play Diaz's nemesis.
Jason Segel's involvement gets me really excited for this movie. I also really like that he isn't going to be the lead male, instead he is a supporting character. I really hope this movie isn't a generic Cameron Diaz style romcom romp, and is something more original and clever, but Jason Segel's involvement makes me believe the film could be a lot of fun.
