In an interview for MICMACS here at the Tribeca Film Festival earlier today, director Jean-Pierre Jeunet had some interesting things to say regarding his next movie and his thoughts on 3D.

"I have a nice idea about robots. I have to work on it but I will not tell you anything!" Immediately after that tidbit, it was asked if the film would be live-action. Jeunet replied, "Yes, it will be [live-action] and robots." With Jeunet's signature style and almost steampunk sensibilities, the idea of him creating a world that encompasses robots would be something quite unique potentially.

Jeunet also went on to say that he would like to shoot in 3D some time soon. "I would have want to shoot MICMACS in 3D but it was too early [technologically]." GATW asked Jeunet if he would ever consider the option of converting one of his films from 2D to 3D. Jeunet gasped saying, "In France, it's too expensive for us. [It's] too expensive for a French film, my God."

So if Jean-Pierre Jeunet is interested in shooting using 3D technology, is it possible that this new idea he has involving robots might wind up in 3D? Well, it can at least live in out imaginations for a little while until more info is found out!
