Jennifer Aniston could be Adam Sandler’s PRETEND WIFE
Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler could be doing the rom-com thing together, as both are currently in talks to star in the romantic comedy, THE PRETEND WIFE. The plot to THE PRETEND WIFE is being kept under wraps, but the project used to be titled HOLIDAY IN HAWAII. So at least we have a good idea of where the film will be set.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Dennis Dugan is the leading candidate to direct the film. Dugan directed one of Sandler’s funniest films (HAPPY GILMORE), but he also directed one of Sandler’s worst (I NOW PRONOUNCE YOU CHUCK & LARRY). Dugan has also done a fair amount of acting; he appeared in HAPPY GILMORE, in which he played a higher-up with the PGA, the guy that keeps Happy on the tour because of his high ratings.
Columbia wants to start shooting the project early next year with plans of a February 11th, 2011 release date. Naturally, in hopes of getting a lot of that Valentine’s Day date coin.
Sandler was a key part of one the funnier rom-coms as of late with 50 FIRST DATES and Jennifer Aniston…isn’t terrible. This could work.
