Joe Quesada releases CAPTAIN AMERICA goodies in Q&A
Captain America is one of the greatest superheroes that exists in the Marvel comic universe. I mean, everything about him is so awesome. First, he is a Captain. Captains are cool. I respect Captains. Now for the Captain’s other name, America. He is America, for goodness sake. Oh, and don’t even get me started on his fantastic hero costume.
Okay, sorry, now that I have geeked out, let’s get to the news. Marvel Comic’s Editor-in-Chief, Joe Quesada, recently hosted a Q&A for fans at the Big Apple Comic-Con, where he was welcomed as the guest of honor. As you can expect, the audience threw out questions about a wide array of future Marvel-adapted films, like SPIDER-MAN 4 and THE FIRST AVENGER: CAPTAIN AMERICA.
Here is what Quesada had to say about about Spidey:
“I’m the biggest Sam Raimi fan in the world, so I can pretty much guarantee that it’ll be damn good.”
Okay, that was nothing but an educated guess. Anyone could make that statement. In fact, I will make one just like it: Captain America rocks, so I can pretty much guarantee that the movie based on him will be damn good. Alright, now that I have transitioned into Cap, check out what Quesada had to say about that project:
“I’ve seen a couple of outlines and an initial screenplay, and it’s going to rock everyone’s socks off… It’s very unexpected, the kind of movie it is.”
He also added that the film will do a great job of leading into the heavily-anticipated AVENGERS film. I cannot wait to hear more on the story, and I am guessing you are in the same boat. Fortunately, I don’t think that we will have to wait around too long before more details begin to emerge, as Paramount and Marvel Studios are planning a July 22, 2011 release date on THE FIRST AVENGER: CAPTAIN AMERICA. THE AVENGERS will follow shortly, premiering May 4, 2012.
