    Tommy Lee Jones

For awhile it appeared that Tommy Lee Jones would be directing and co-starring in THE LINCOLN LAWYER, but now Jones has decided to leave the project. Jones, who is primarily well-known for his acting, also directed the generally well-received present day western, THE THREE BURIALS OF MELQUIADES ESTRADA.

THE LINCOLN LAWYER is about a lawyer who works out of his car, which happens to be a Lincoln. It is so beautiful when a title comes together so perfectly. The film centers on the biggest case of the lawyer’s career: defending a wealthy playboy accused of assault and attempted murder. Matthew McConaughey is still attached to bring the charm train to the project as the lawyer.

Jones will not be participating in THE LINCOLN LAWYER in any way due to “creative differences on the script.” With Jones’ departure, Lakeshore Entertainment is now forced to find another director and co-star for the project, while still wanting to start production on THE LINCOLN LAWYER next spring.
