Oscar winning actor Tommy Lee Jones who made his directorial debut with the critically well-received film The Three Burials Melquiades Estrada has chosen his next directing project, Islands in the Stream.

The film will be based on the Ernest Hemmingway novel of the same name. The novel's protagonist is Thomas Hudson; Islands in the Stream discusses Thomas' relationship with his children and his attempts to recover an abandoned German ship from WWII.

Mr. Jones will be directing himself again, as he will star as the film's lead. The film is scheduled to begin shooting in March.
