Jones possibly directing McConaughey in LINCOLN LAWYER
Tommy Lee Jones (whose acting work includes UNDER SIEGE, UNDER SIEGE, and UNDER SIEGE) delivered a solid modern-day western with THE THREE BURIALS OF MELQUIADES ESTRADA in his first feature film directing effort. Jones is now in talks to direct THE LINCOLN LAWYER, which Matthew McConaughey is already attached to as the lead.
THE LINCOLN LAWYER is about a small-time lawyer named Mickey Haller (McConaughey) who lives in Los Angeles and works out of his car. Guess what kind of car he has? I will give you a hint, it’s not a Kia. Despite working out of his Lincoln (since I eliminated Kia, I’m sure you were able to guess it right), Haller gets a huge case, “defending a Beverly Hills playboy accused of murder.”
As well as directing, Jones is also negotiating to co-star in the project. It is not known what character Jones is in talks to play. I could easily see Jones as the prosecuting lawyer playing against McConaughey, but there is currently no indication who Jones will play he if ends up directing and appearing in THE LINCOLN LAWYER.
