Talk about a killer cast. Just what a truly killer project deserves.

With the film being one of WB’s most hyped projects, the studio is going out to the very best talent available to build its cast.

Deadline is reporting that Josh Brolin has joined the cast of the upcoming film THE GANGSTER SQUAD. The film currently stars Ryan Gosling and Sean Penn, with the outlet saying that the latter is “shaky” on his role, but for all intents and purposes, he is still very much attached.

The film will be helmed by Ruben Fleischer, and is based on a series of articles penned by LA Times writer Paul Lieberman, that follows a special LAPD squad set up in the ‘40s to fight the growth of the East Coast Mafia on the West Coast.

Penned by Will Beall, the film has garnered more than its fair share of hype, hitting last year’s Black List, and ultimately seeing names like Ben Affleck attached to the director’s chair. Outside of THE DARK KNIGHT RISES, GANGSTER SQUAD appears to be the studio’s biggest project, so it’s one that I definitely can’t wait to check out. What do you think?
