Kevin Smith’s HIT SOMEBODY to film this year?
I don’t know a single person that enjoyed the trailer to COP OUT, everyone agrees that it doesn’t look funny. Many people believe it is because Kevin Smith did not write it, as it is his first feature that he is only directing. Fans of Smith’s writing will be pleased to hear that his next feature he wrote, HIT SOMEBODY, will probably film this year.
In an interview with Joblo, Smith claims that he will “be spending a lot more time [at the arena] in the next year.” Since the interview took place before the new year, he was most likely talking about 2010. This means that they are more prepared to start the film than most people anticipated. The film is about a hockey goon, and is based off the song “Hit Somebody” by Warren Zevron.
I’m excited about this movie, it’ll be nice to see Kev do something that is more dramatic. He claims that if he were ever to make an Oscar-worthy movie this might be it. I think that might be a bold claim, but I hope he proves me wrong.
