KICK-ASS character posters now online!

Caution: I will be using the phrase "kick-ass" a lot in this post. There's absolutely no way around it.
IGN has just released the kick-ass character posters for our heroes and foes in Matthew Vaugn's KICK-ASS. If you're reading this, you already know what this film's about, but if not, know this: KICK-ASS is a comic book adaptation that follows a group of high schoolers who dress up as superheros and fight crime. Our central hero is Dave Lizewski, played by Aaron Johnson, and the rest of this principal cast includes Nicolas Cage, Chloe Moretz, and Christopher Mintz-Plasse. The film was quickly scooped up by Lionsgate after the wonderful sneak peek at this year's Comic-Con in San Diego.
These posters show the back of our costumed vigilantes, and when put together in the right order, they spell out the title of the film, informing us all that this movie's going to, yes, kick a lot of ass. There's seriously no way of getting away from that pun.

Dave Lizewski doesn't have superpowers, isn't particularly strong or smart, and isn't extraordinary in any way… aside from his desire to be a hero. Donning a scuba suit, a ski mask, and a pair of clubs, Dave hits the underworld hard in his new persona of Kick-Ass. Though not as hard -- at first anyway -- as they hit him when he's severely beaten and hospitalized as a result of his first street fight. No one said being a hero was going to be easy…

Next is Hit-Girl (Moretz), an acrobatic junior assassin who will slice and dice anyone who gets in her way. She’s only 11-years old, but that doesn’t stop her from delivering the pain when it comes time.

Big Daddy (Cage) is the father of Hit-Girl, a dubious character who has raised his only daughter to be a ruthless vigilante. His plans are more complex than those of his youthful daughter and her newfound friend Kick-Ass, as he’s looking to get even with a crime boss who killed his wife.

The mysterious Red Mist is one of the costumed would-be adventurers who emerges in the aftermath of Kick-Ass' crime-fighting debut. The reefer-smoking Red Mist soon becomes something of a partner to Kick-Ass as their assault on the underworld intensifies, but what is this hero's true motivation?
